Responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic in Toronto - Packing Hygiene Kits and Emergency Food
Hello Everyone,


As Canada responds to the COVID-19 pandemic, GlobalMedic is assisting where needed. Over the next few weeks, GlobalMedic will be packing hygiene kits and emergency food nearly every weekday to support vulnerable people and front line healthcare workers across Canada. We are creating a list of volunteers who are able to be a part of these events.

Given the current situation there is a level of risk associated with attending these events and we understand that you may not want to participate at this time. We are taking steps to reduce the risk by enforcing social distancing, limiting events to small groups, enhancing disinfecting measures, and adding advanced screening protocols. All participants are required to wear a mask and gloves which will be provided. If you have your own masks and gloves please bring them. We are asking that volunteers do not car pool unless already living in the same household and avoid taking public transit.

In order to limit risk to yourself, other volunteers and the public, please do not sign up to volunteer if any of the following is true:

- You or someone in your household have traveled outside of Canada, or have come into contact with someone who has traveled outside of Canada in the past 14 days.
- You or someone in your household are feeling sick, have a fever, cough and/or respiratory issues, or have come into contact with someone experiencing these symptoms.
- You or someone in your household is an active emergency worker or work in the healthcare system (police, fire, paramedic, nurse, doctor).
- You or someone in your household are 70 years of age or older, are immunocompromised or have pre-existing health conditions which make you more susceptible to the effects of COVID-19.

If you wish to be contacted for these events please fill out the form below. If you meet the screening criteria you will be contacted directly regarding volunteering at specific events. In order to limit large crowds, please only come to an event if you receive a confirmation email or message directly from us.
