Rationale:
The aim of the School Liaison and Community
Outreach Fund is to support the learning of the French language and francophone
cultures and to contribute to the growth and vitality of French-speaking
communities across Australia. The Australian Society for French Studies, with
support from the Embassy of France in Australia, will make up to two annual
awards of a maximum of $500 each. These awards will assist members in their
initiatives to foster
collaborative exchanges with community organisations; to promote
French teaching in schools. We especially welcome collaborative applications
between ASFS and FATFA members (Federation of Associations of Teachers ofFrench in Australia); to engage
in intellectual development in subjects related to those which they are
teaching and which will allow them to help students bridge the gap between
school and university. The scheme also acts as a forum for keeping members
up-to-date with curriculum developments and deepening the Association’s ties to
Australia’s French-speaking communities.
