Complete the following application by Friday, March 4th, 2022. Each application item is important and will help us gain insight on your entrepreneurial mindset, personal interests, and your learning orientation. The items are randomized on each application form.
This program has been optimized for individuals with none to limited knowledge of coding but have an entrepreneurial passion and a project in their mind that they want to create yet don’t have some of the coding and software knowledge they may need to get these ideas off the ground.
Here is an outline of what will be taught in the program:
1. Working with a visual no-code software to learn about languages such as HTML, CSS, and JS
2. How databases work and how to properly structure one
3. User encryption
4. How to create automated email campaigns
5. Process online payments
6. How to read API documentation
7. What Object Oriented Programming is
8. SMS Marketing
9. How to send notifications
10. Cloud Computing
11. Software applications to interpret and make use of your data
12. Take what you learned and apply it to your idea which will be presented in the last two weeks of the program
Please note that this program *is for UAB students only*. Also, *you do not need any programming or technology experience for this program*. Admission will be competitive based on our evaluation of your entrepreneurial mindset and strong, motivated interest as expressed in this application.
The entrepreneurial coding academy will meet on Tuesdays from 6:30pm until 8:30pm at Innovation Depot starting Tuesday, March 8th. Selection decisions and more details will be communicated to all applicants by March 5th, 2022. Again, the application deadline is Friday, March 4, 2022.
