a) Regular attendance at lessons is essential for satisfactory progress. Scheduled lesson times must be adhered to and every effort must be made to ensure that other commitments do not clash with scheduled lessons.

b) Pupils must be on time for lessons.

c) Attendance at lessons becomes a compulsory part of the school timetable and lessons take precedence over all activities except matches, the schedules for which are always issued in sufficient time to inform the teacher of a problem.

d) If the pupil is attending a planned school activity, such as a match, tour/outing, concert or festival, the parent undertakes to inform the teacher 24 hours in advance of such an occurrence. If necessary, the teacher will make every effort to reschedule the lesson in order to ensure that the pupil receives the required number of lessons per term. However, if a pupil misses lessons consistently for similar reasons to those mentioned above, these lessons will not be caught up. Therefore, it is expected that, as far as possible, pupils adhere to their scheduled lesson time.

e) External appointments e.g. dentists, orthodontists etc. should not be scheduled during lesson times.

f) If the pupil is ill, the teacher must be informed before 07h00 on the day of the lesson.

g) If a pupil does not arrive for a lesson, that lesson will be forfeited and will be counted towards the required 10 lessons for the term. Lessons will not be made up in circumstances such as these.

h) If the teacher is unable to attend the lesson, the lesson will be rescheduled to ensure that the pupil receives the required number of lessons per term.

i) If a child cannot attend lessons due to an injury, serious illness or hospitalization, special arrangements may be made in consultation with the Head of Music.
