All complicated applications will be reviewed by the Learning Division of MCS. in addition to completed applications, a student self assessment will be completed, previous grades and attendance will be reviewed, and teacher/principal input will be evaluated. Parents and students will be notified when final decisions have been made for approval.

Montgomery Virtual students will receive a device for online learning. Students must have consistent, reliable internet and must be proficient in the use of the device. Montgomery Virtual will not send home paper packets of assignments.

I understand my child must attend all classes each each day to be counted present and will follow the MCS calendar. Students that are not participating in virtual class sessions, completing assignments, maintaining communication with teachers may be transferred back to their MCS home school.

I understand my child will check email daily and respond in a timely manner.

There will be a required in-person orientation for students and parents. At this time students will meet teachers, get devices and other necessary materials, and be introduced to the online learning platform.

Students enrolled in Montgomery Virtual may have to come onsite for state testing. Transportation will be provided for students residing in Montgomery County.

I understand that class participation is expected. Classes may be synchronous ( live) or asynchronous ( assignments posted to complete independently). Students are expected to participate with their camera on during live sessions.

I understand that my child is expected to follow all school rules for Montgomery County Schools. Failure to do so may result in student being transferred to their home school.

I understand that my child can participate in athletics and extracurricular activities in the school in which they would be assigned if not attending Montgomery Virtual, but are required to meet eligibility requirements.
