3 Circles Evangelism // Session 1
We live in a broken world.

And the gospel is how God puts broken people back together again. Once we repent and believe in Jesus, God’s Spirit helps us recover and pursue His design. God is the one who created the world and every human being in it.

This six-session training will empower you to turn everyday conversations in gospel conversations using the 3 circles.

This training is designed to take place in person, but we’ve adapted it for an online platform. As you watch the sessions, some of the assignments and instructions Jimmy gives will not apply to this online platform, but we have created other assignments that will help you make the most of the training.

Assignments
Complete these three assignments to familiarize yourself with the 3 Circles evangelism method.
Assignment #1: Practice Drawing the 3 Circles
Use a piece of paper or even a napkin to draw the 3 Circles from memory. Don’t worry if you can’t remember everything or if you get something wrong. Remember, this is practice! If you get stuck, scroll down to the bottom of this page for a reminder.
Assignment #2: List the name of friend or family member with whom you could practice the 3 Circles conversations. *
Practice the 3 Circles with someone three times this week. You can practice with a family member or friend—a believer or non-believer. A great way to start conversations is to say, “I’m taking at class at church and was wondering if I could practice what I’m learning on you?”
Assignment #3: Write down the names of four people you know personally who have yet to repent and believe the gospel. *
Focused prayer is going to be a key component to our training. God is reconciling the world to Himself (2 Corinthians 5:19). It’s His work, and we have to trust Him to do it. Prayer aligns our hearts with God’s heart for the lost. It helps us tune in to do God’s work in God’s way. Jesus said people only come to Him if the Father draws them (John 6:44). He says that we can ask for anything in His name, and He will do it (John 14:14). We know that praying for people’s salvation is in His will because the Bible says He doesn’t want anyone to perish (2 Peter 3:9). Write down the names of four people you know personally who have yet to repent and believe the gospel. The four people are: a family member, a friend, a neighbor or co-worker and that one person who you would say will “never” repent and believe. This is the most far from God (FFG) person you know! For example, Saul of Tarsus, a Pharisee and persecutor of early Christians, would have been on someone’s prayer list as the most FFG person he knew. Yet God knew that Saul would become Paul and he would one day spearhead the movement of the Spirit that took the gospel to 8 million people in two years (Acts 19:10).Pray daily for these people.
