Walbridge PD Golf Cart Inspections
Use this form to submit a request for a golf cart inspection.  A golf cart inspection officer will reach out to you as soon as we receive your request, and will schedule a time to either stop out at your residence, or meet you at the police department, to inspect your golf cart.

Golf carts are allowed in the Village of Walbridge and on the public roadways, but must adhere to the following guidelines:  All golf cart operators must possess a valid driver license and proof of insurance, there must be a clearly visible VIN number on the cart, the cart must have a windshield made of glass or safety glass, the cart must have an audible horn that can be heard not less than 200 feet, the cart must have (2) working headlights, the cart must have a rearview mirror, the cart must have turn signals on both the front and back, the cart must have a seat belt for each occupant seat on the cart, the cart must be equipped with rear tail lights (1) must be working at all times, the cart must have (2) brake lights visible up to 500 feet, the cart must have (1) rear license plate bracket, and the cart must have a rear license plate light that is working.

Once an officer inspects the cart and approves it, you can then take the inspection form to the nearest Bureau of Motor Vehicles and obtain your license plate for the cart.

All golf cart motorists must adhere to all traffic laws, just as if you were operating a standard motor vehicle.

*Note: if you already have obtained license plates for your golf cart (after having it inspected elsewhere), you are NOT required to have it inspected by the Walbridge Police Department.
