Graduation Solo Application
Congratulations to our BVN Senior Musicians who earned all-state or qualified for the KSHSAA state solo and ensemble festival on your instrument! (during any of your four years at BVN).

These accomplishments reflect high levels of individual musical performance, and have qualified you to audition to be a featured performers at the BVN Graduation and Class Day Ceremonies.

The featured performers will be chosen via audition.  

Auditions for this solo performance will be held on Thursday, April 25th, during AST

If you would like to audition, please complete this form by the end of the school day on Friday, April 19th.

An audition schedule will be published on Monday, April 22nd.  

Please note these important considerations:
 - Auditions should be performed without accompanist (for fairness, in case an accompanist is not available).  
 - Your audition piece should be the piece you would perform on the graduation ceremony.
 - Please consider the setting (performing at a ceremony in a gym or outdoors, with a large non-musician audience), and timing. 
 - If you are chosen as the performer, and your solo is accompanied, at graduation/Class day you will perform with accompanist.  You should make your own accompanist arrangements.  If you need assistance with an accompanist, please talk with our BVN Music Teachers.
  • The solo should be less than 4 1/2 minutes long.  2-4 minutes is ideal.  
  • If your solo is longer than 4.5 minutes, choose a really awesome and audience-friendly excerpt of it. 
  • The solo should fit the setting/import of graduation
  • The solo should be something a large audience of non-musicians will appreciate and enjoy, and show you off!
