Region 2 Adult Liaison Application
Thank you for your interest in applying to become the Region 2 Adult Liaison. Region 2 represents Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The adult and student liaison rotates each year among the five states. Maryland’s rotation will start at the end of April 2020.
Mission Statement: Region 2 strives to positively guide and encourage effective leadership among current and future generations throughout the states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. While acting on this vision, Region 2 will stimulate all student leaders, advisers, and individuals to unite and motivate the growth of Student Councils.
Term of Office: Starting at the end of the April 24-26, 2020 Region 2 conference in New York, through the end of the April 2021 Region 2 Conference in Maryland.
*Qualifications:
• Be a member of a Maryland Association of Student Councils (school or affiliate membership)
• Be able to attend the April 24-26, 2020 Region 2 Conference
• Be able to attend the June 2020 National Conference
• Be able to attend the April 2021 Region 2 Conference
• Have at least three to five years of advising in student leadership
The liaisons selected will be expected to:
• Serve as the co-coordinator for the Region 2 activity before the June 22-24, 2020 National Conference in Colorado
• Update and maintain the Region 2 website
• Foster communication between the state presidents and executive directors of Region 2.
• Foster the sharing of ideas and projects among the state organizations of Region 2.
• Represent Region 2 (along with the student liaison) at state conferences throughout the region, visiting each state, if possible at least once during the year.
• Present workshops and speak on behalf of the region when visiting the other states (if invited to present)
• Serve as the Co-Chair for the April 2021 Region 2 Conference in Maryland
• Serve as an advisor to the student liaison and chaperone him/her to conferences/events outside of the state as needed. Most states have Saturday conferences.
