TNCS Counselor in Training (CIT) program is a service-oriented opportunity for students who are incoming 7th–10th graders. Students may sign-up/apply to work for one week or more of summer camp. Students will earn service hours for their time. Working hours are typically 8:00 am to 3:30 pm with breaks to eat lunch and rest.
A Counselor in Training (CIT) is Someone Who:
Is 12 -15 years old
Wants practice in career and personal development
Enjoys working with children younger than them
Is able to take their work seriously and professionally
Has a positive, can-do attitude
Wants to be a part of the TNCS camp community this summer!
Counselor in Training (CIT) Job Description:
Assist in providing a quality summer camp that reinforces the mission of The New Century School
Help coordinate daily/weekly activities for campers
Gain an overall understanding of summer camp operations
Attend training and orientation
Arrive to work at scheduled times and communicate when tardy or absent via <office@thenewcenturyschool.com>
Treat each child with dignity and respect
Assist in providing care and supervision to create a fun, safe camp environment
Help enforce safety regulations
Comply with TNCS rules and regulations
Interact cooperatively with peers, staff, and supervisors
Provide support to youth, staff, and families at all times
Record clock in and clock out times every day
Other duties as assigned
