Application for consideration of Nomination for Jefferson County Commonwealth Attorney

In accordance with the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office, there is a declared vacancy to fill the Commonwealth’s Attorney office, the Louisville Jefferson County Democratic Party (LJCDP) Nomination Committee is now taking applications of registered Democrats interested in being the Democratic candidate for Commonwealth’s Attorney.

All applications are due by Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 5 p.m.

As per the KDP Bylaws, the LJCDP Nomination Committee will be conducting an interview of each candidate and then voting on its selection for the Democratic candidate to run in the November 7, 2023 Special Election held in conjunction with 2023 General Election. The selection decision will be made public once all applicants have been informed.

The interviews, by appointment, will be held at the Louisville Jefferson County Democrat Party headquarters, 831, South Sixth Street.

fulfill the following eligibility requirements for a Commonwealth Attorney: "At the time of election, must be at least 24 years of age, a citizen of Kentucky, resided in the State 2 years and 1 year next preceding his/her election in the county and district in which he/she is a candidate, and have been a licensed practicing lawyer for 4 years.
