To be considered for adoption you need to:
- Be at least 19 years old.
- Everyone in the household MUST have knowledge of a pet joining the family.
- Have a valid government-issued photo ID.
- Own your home or have the landlord's consent to bring an animal onto the property.
- All current animals must have UTD vaccine records and be fixed.
- Understand that Pups on the Plains reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any animal without explanation.

Pups on the Plains Rescue Team cannot guarantee the health or temperament of any animal.

If I can no longer keep the animal for any reason, I am required to return the animal to Pups on the Plains Rescue Team.

I understand that I am required to send up-to-date photos of the adopted animal to a Pups on the Plains representative when requested. Failure to do so can lead to Pups on the Plains repossessing the dog/cat.

I am required to establish my animal at veterinary clinic within 30 of adoption .This will include an appointment for a general physical with necessary monthly medications purchased.

I understand that Pups on the Plains will contact my vet to ensure this requirement is met. Failure to establish a vet and attend a veterinary appointment with the adopted animal can lead to Pups on the Plains repossessing the animal.

I am required to provide monthly heartworm preventative, flea/tick and intestinal worm treatments. Failure to do so can lead to Pups on the Plains repossessing the animal.

I agree that all information on this application is accurate. Pups on the Plains Rescue Team has the right to contact my landlord, rental company, and/or veterinarian at any time.

If I am not located in Auburn, AL I am responsible for any costs that may be associated with transporting the animal if needed.

I consent to Pups on the Plains contacting the above listed veterinarian (if applicable) and obtaining my current and/or past animals' medical records and personal history.

THE ADOPTION IS NONREFUNDABLE. IF I DECIDE NOT TO PROCEED WITH THE ADOPTION OR TO RETURN THE ANIMAL, I WILL NOT RECEIVE A REIMBURSEMENT FOR ANY FEES I HAVE PAID.

I indemnify POP, and its volunteers, for any liability, costs or expenses which arise as a result of my actions or omissions (including negligence) or the pets condition, health or behavior whether during or after the trial period and acknowledge that POP is not liable or responsible for the pet if you are to adopt it.

PLEASE READ:

If you did not already know, POP is a student-run rescue out of Auburn, AL. Therefore, we do have to put some time aside during the week to focus on class and our additional jobs. Our normal business hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm M-F. In addition, we have been getting feedback that some of our emails are going to junk mail and not being seen by applicants. If you chose email as your preferred method of communication please be checking your email over the next week. Please allow us up to a week to review and process your application. If you have not heard back from us within a week of submitting this application please email us at poprescueteam@gmail.com and we will get back to you right away. If you submit an application on Friday-Sunday be mindful that it may take longer than one week to process. For, we have to check Veterinarian references and most offices close early Saturday and are not open on Sunday. We appreciate your patience and your interest in adopting through us! We could not do what we do without supporters like you! Thank you!

****IMPORTANT RE: NOVEMBER 23rd - JANUARY 11th****
We are currently on Holiday Break intermixed with a period of finals (December 2nd until December 8th). Please allow us at least 5-7 business days to respond to your email. During the week of Thanksgiving: November 23rd until November 28th most vet offices have limited hours and it will be more difficult for us to conduct vet checks during this time. Therefore, processing applications may take up to two weeks.
