Rules and regulations to be observed by students using the campus parking facilities:

1. The student parking permit form must be completed with parent and student signatures. In addition, a COPY of valid driver’s license, a current COPY of an insurance card, and the license plate number are required to obtain a parking permit. The school will keep the COPY of DL and insurance. The cost of a parking permit is $30.00. Check or Cash will be accepted. If a student plans to drive multiple vehicles during the year, separate parking permits must be purchased for each additional vehicle and are available at a cost of $5.00 with and accompanying Google Form submitted.

2. The sticker must be placed on the rear windshield, bottom left driver side. Students who fail to properly display the sticker will be given a citation or have their parking privileges revoked.

3. Students are expected to park their cars in the designated parking lots mentioned above. Students are NOT allowed to park in STAFF parking lots.

4. Students should notify Mrs. Loubiere’s office IMMEDIATELY of any changes in vehicle or license plate. Replacement stickers can be purchased for a $5.00 fee. Temporary parking passes for special circumstances may be granted.

5. Handicap parking is available for students in both lots and will be assigned as needed.

6. Loitering in the parking lot is prohibited. Students should lock their cars, leave the parking lot, and enter the school immediately upon arrival. Students need written permission from an administrator or School Resource Officer (SRO) to be in the student parking lot during school hours.

7. Student vehicles are subject to search if there is reasonable suspicion to believe that drugs, alcohol, stolen property, or other contraband is present in the vehicle.

8. The safe operation of motor vehicles is required. Vehicles must not travel in excess of 15 miles per hour. Speeding and reckless driving are prohibited and may result in revocation of the parking permit.

9. Seat belts are required for driver and ALL passengers. Students are not permitted to ride in the back of a truck for any reason.

10. Disabled vehicles may not be left on campus overnight. If necessary, towing must be arranged..

11. Supervision is provided for the parking lot(s); however, BISD is not responsible for damages to or theft from vehicles. Students are cautioned NOT to leave valuables in their vehicles. Parked vehicles should be left with the windows closed and all doors locked.

12. Parking a vehicle on school property is a privilege, not a right. Students who violate BHS parking regulations may be warned, fined, booted, towed, and/or face loss of their parking privileges.  

13. Offenses for traffic citations are as follows:
• 1st offense= Warning
• 2nd offense=$10.00 fine
• 3rd offense=$20.00 fine and temporary suspension of parking privileges
• 4th offense and subsequent offenses=$20.00 fine or suspension of parking privileges.
• Serious offenses will result in immediate suspension of parking privileges.

Lake Belton High School assumes no liability for any accidents involving privately owned vehicles on school grounds. Students have full responsibility for the security of their vehicle and must make certain that they are locked and that their keys are not given to another student. Vehicles parked on school property are under jurisdiction of the school and are subject to search if reasonable cause exists to do so. BISD offers bus transportation to all students.
