Neighborhood Family Garden Code of Conduct *

I will be mindful of designated plot boundaries.

I will not intrude on neighboring plots without permission.

I will not enter the garden unless scheduled.

I will not bring pets into the garden.

I understand watering the plants is an assigned responsibility to avoid overwatering.

If I volunteer to water and I am unable to, I will inform support team partners.

I will use only organic and approved gardening practices.

I understand there is no use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers.

I will report any pest or disease issues promptly to prevent spread.

I will return communal tools to their designated places after use.

I will respect others' tools and ask permission before using them.

I will keep garden tools clean and in good condition.

I understand weeding will occur regularly to avoid the spread of invasive plants.

I will assist with communal maintenance activities, such as path weeding, spreading wood chips, and keeping communal areas tidy.

I understand harvesting happens collectively to promote teamwork and community spirit.

I understand produce is shared amongst all participants.

I will not harvest from neighboring plots.

I will stay informed through community notices and attend meetings. If I am unable to attend a meeting, I will notify a support partner to obtain any updates.

I will communicate with a support team partner to address any concerns or conflicts.

I will promptly report any issues, such as broken equipment or water leaks.

I will inform a support team partner if I plan to bring guests to the garden.

I will ensure that guests adhere to the same rules established for the community.

I will respect all participants, support team partners and others in the garden.

I understand that smoking is prohibited on farm property.

I will complete and present a Child Abuse History Clearance before joining the program. (Clearances are free for volunteers)

Waiver of Liability

In consideration for participation in Philly Goat Project’s Planthood program, I on my own behalf and on behalf of my heirs and legal representatives, release, waive and forever discharge Philly Goat Project, Awbury Arboretum and their officers, staff members, volunteers, advisors, and agents from all claims of any type that I may have against them because of an injury, loss, or damage that I may suffer to myself or to my property because of participation in Philly Goat Project’s Planthood program.
