(Individual): Culturally Responsive Practices for STEM Faculty Teaching Latinx Students (STEM-X) Registration Form
1. Summer Vibes 2024: 4-days immersive 2 hour facilitator-led Zoom sessions. 
The Morning cohort is 9:00-11:00 am PT and the Afternoon cohort is 12:00-2:00 pm PT.
Pre-work opens on May 24, 2024. Facilitator-led sessions will run from June 4-7, 2024, with the course closing on June 21, 2024.

2. Fall Fridays 2024: 4 consecutive Fridays facilitator-led Zoom sessions. 
Pre-work opens on September 3, 2024. Facilitator-led sessions will run from September 13-October 4, 2024 (9:00-11:00 am PT), with the course closing on October 18, 2024.

3. Winter Asynchronous 2025: Asynchronous, paced course using Canvas LMS.
Course opens January 3, 2025 and has weekly assignments. Closes on February 28, 2025.

Payment Terms:
The cost of this course is $2,000 per person. Payment can be made via credit card or through an invoice/purchase order to your organization. Payment will be due in full prior to the start date.

Time Commitment and Course Structure.  Please read through the following information so that you fully understand the attendance and time commitment of this course before registering.
ABOUT the STEM-X COURSE:

The STEMX course is divided into 6 separate sessions. Each session is completed by submitting a certifying "learning assignment" called an Equity Exercise, which requires you to analyze your course materials and plan to make changes to improve your course environment for Latinx students to succeed. You must complete all 6 Equity Exercises in order to receive the Certificate for the course. The Equity Exercises are completed outside of live course time, and take anywhere from 45 min-90 min to complete.

Read on to see a more detailed explanation of each modality and the time commitment you'll be making in order to complete the 6 sessions of learning and the 6 Equity Exercises.

Summer Vibes 2024 begins May 24 and ends June 21, 2024
  • You will need to attend a facilitator-led live session on Zoom, each day Tues-Friday, June 4-7, 2024.
  • Choose between the Morning cohort (9:00-11:00 am PT) or Afternoon cohort (12:00-2:00 pm PT).
  • Each night, you will be encouraged to complete your Equity Exercises 2, 3 and 4 for the session you attended.
  • Equity Exercise 1 and 6 are completed asynchronously.
  • All work must be submitted by course close date of June 21.
Fall Fridays 2024 begins September 3 and ends October 18, 2024.
  • You will need to attend a facilitator-led live session on Zoom for 4 Fridays: Sept 13, 20, 27, and Oct 4 
  • Live sessions on Fridays run from 9:00-11:00 am PT.
  • Each week you will be encouraged to complete your Equity Exercises 2, 3 and 4 for the session you attended.
  • Equity Exercise 1 and 6 are completed asynchronously.
  • All work must be submitted by course close date of Oct 18.
Winter Asynchronous 2025 begins January 3 and ends February 28, 2025.
  • There are no live sessions for this course.
  • You will be grouped with similar disciplines into a "Casa" and work with a STEM Casa Lead during the course
  • You will spend 2 hours each week to complete the session modules on Canvas and submit your Equity Exercise
  • You will receive feedback weekly from your Casa Lead on your Equity Exercises.
