The Rhododendron Society recognizes graduates of the Reich College of Education whose service to education as a teacher, librarian, human service professional, or administrator has been remarkable and exemplary. Established in 1999, the University’s centennial year, it is the highest honor given by the Reich College of Education.
Nominated individuals must meet the following requirements:- Have contributed outstanding achievement and service as a teacher, educator, librarian, human service professional, or administrator.
- Have demonstrated commitment, integrity, and success in his/her chosen endeavors.
- Have a continued interest in Appalachian State University.
- Be present or represented at the Rhododendron Society Induction Brunch on June 7, 2024.
Additional Guidelines:
- Nominees cannot have a familial relationship with the person who is nominating them.
- Three letters of reference must be included, outlining the nominees’ credentials, character traits, and personal contributions to the field of education.
- Nomination packet must include an informal resume detailing education, occupational history, and volunteer experience.
- Nominees can either be currently working in the field or retired educators.
- Nominees’ phone number, address, and email address must be included.
- Nominees cannot be current Appalachian State University employees or current RCOE Advancement Board members.
