The Department of Education provide free bus transport to school for some children.  The scheme is administered by Bus Eireann.  In order to qualify for school transport, a child must be aged between 4 and 12 and living more than 3.2 kilometres (2 miles) from the nearest suitable national school; the Department of Education and Science decides what the nearest suitable school is.  Parents or guardians should note that the scheme is not a door-to-door service: parents are responsible for bringing their children to the nearest pick-up point to avail of the service                  Will your child be requiring school transport?   *
During the course of the school year, all classes will normally undertake a variety of different activities outside the school premises e.g. visit the church; swimming; football matches; athletics and any other activities that may arise. When we take the children on these outings, we increase the level of supervision to meet the needs of the particular activity. Permission slips are given out prior to many outings but we are seeking your general consent now: *
Tablets/ computers/ laptops and internet access in all classrooms give the pupils a very powerful tool for learning. The school has a very comprehensive ‘Acceptable Usage Policy’ for the use of these tools and we are asking you to grant consent for your child to use the computers in the school in accordance with those guidelines. We are seeking your consent for your child to use these devices and to access the internet *
We have a school website (www.millpresns.com) and we upload photographs/ videos of our students engaged in school related activities. Children are never individually identified. From time to time, external photographers from local newspapers/ local Millstreet Town website also publish photos of our students to publicise various school activities.  We are seeking permission to publish photographs/ videos of your child, should the occasion arise: *

The Department of Education and Skills has developed an electronic database of primary school pupils called the Primary Online Database (POD) which involves schools maintaining and returning data on pupils to the Dept. at individual pupil level on a live system. This information will be used to evaluate progress and outcomes of pupils at primary level, to validate school enrolment returns for grant payment and teacher allocation purposes, to follow up on pupils who do not make the transfer from primary to post primary level and for statistical reporting. The database will hold data on all primary school pupils. The database will also contain, on an optional basis, information on the pupil's religion and on their ethnic or cultural background. The data required for POD will only be uploaded to POD if your child is enrolled in our school. All other data we need for the efficient running of the school. This form will be retained by the school and will be strictly confidential. Do you consent to uploading data relating to ethnicity and religion to POD - Primary Online Database? *
