SBU 3MT Speaker Sign Up 2023
SBU will host a Three Minute Thesis competition in-person and live on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 10am - 2pm in the Wang Center Lecture Halls.

Sign up here for a chance to present your dissertation research to a broad audience IN JUST THREE MINUTES.

Participants will receive specialized coaching from research communication experts. First, second, and third place, and people's choice winners receive cash prizes.

HOW TO SIGN UP:

1. Enter your contact info below.

2. Affirm that your graduate advisor supports your participation in the 3MT competition.

3. Agree to attend specialized training on presenting academic research to a general audience audience, which consists of THREE separate sessions:

     3.1. A 2-hr plenary training on Wed, Feb 22, 10:00am-12:00 pm (mandatory);

     3.2. A first 2-hr individualized coaching session (mandatory) on EITHER
             Tuesday, March 7, 10:00 am-12:00 pm OR 
             Tuesday, March 7, 12:30-2:30 pm OR 
             Wednesday, March 8, 10:00 am-12:00 pm OR
             Wednesday, March 8, 12:30-2:30 pm 

     3.3. A second 2-hr individualized coaching session (mandatory) on EITHER
             Tuesday, March 21, 10:00 am-12:00 pm OR 
             Tuesday, March 21, 12:00-2:00 pm OR 
             Wednesday, March 22, 10:00 am-12:00 pm OR
             Wednesday, March 22, 12:00-2:00 pm 

You can indicate a preference for coaching sessions in the sign up below. Please try to save the coaching dates on your calendar.

4. After the sign-up period closes, you will receive confirmation on whether you have been selected to compete.  At that time, we will request a title from selected competitors.
