Cost: Free (but please RSVP!)
Age Range: 6-10 years old
Experience: None. It doesn't matter if you were born into hockey fandom or if you have never seen a hockey stick, all are welcome!
Equipment: We provide everything! All the kids need to bring is their running sneakers!
All participants (or guardians/parents' of participants of minority age (under 18 at time of registration)) must read, understand, and agree to
Clinic Waiver in order to participate. All participants (
or guardians/parents' of participants of minority age (under 18 at time of registration)) will be provided the Clinic Waiver to read, understand, agree, and sign in person at check in.
Parents/Guardians are asked to stay at the rink and watch from sidelines during event.
Basic Agenda:
9-9:15am - Introductions
9:15-9:30 - Basic warm ups (2-3 drills)
9:30-9:45 - Skill stations (3-5 spots); relay races
9:45-10 - Mini game and shootouts
10:30 - Free play!
About Coach Cherie Stewart
Cherie Stewart is a certified youth hockey coach with extensive experience playing ice and ball hockey, both internationally and professionally. She previously coached the Team New York U16 girls team with the USA Ball Hockey program. She also has been an active player within Team USA's women's ball hockey program since 2015. She received a gold medal in 2022 (Prague, Czech Republic), a silver medal (Kosice, Slovakia) and All-tournament team selection in 2019, and silver medal in 2017 (Pardubice, Czech Republic).
Her ice hockey background includes playing NCAA D3 hockey at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York and professionally in the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL) for the New York Riveters. She coached and refereed youth hockey programs at the Toyota Sports Center – Los Angeles Kings, Ice Hockey in Harlem, and New York City Skyliners program at City Ice Pavilion. She also coached adult women’s hockey for the Lady Kings program at Toyota Sports Center.
Cherie is a native of Lake Forest in Southern California. She received her bachelor’s degree in business management and master’s degree in international management with a marketing communication management concentration, both from Manhattanville College. She currently resides in Brooklyn, New York and works at J.P. Morgan.
