How to make a great description for an editorial pitch?
A correct format for editors to take it seriously is to have a rich description of the song. A great description gives a situation on where you are as a project, what is interesting about it and references everybody understands. A compact one would include the 'vibe' of the song (mood tags!) and, if you want, references to official playlists you can fit in. Here you have a couple examples of good practices:
"First single of 2021 from the Yokohama-born Tokyo-based artist whose musical style mixes influences from J-pop, rap, hard rock, and electronica. She has been selected as 2021 SXSW Music Festival, which will be taking place virtually. A mini North American tour is scheduled for November. Her 2020 mini-album LOVETHEISM received press from The Needle Drop, Billboard, and Stereogum ["imagine if 100 gecs were (1) sincerely openhearted and (2) Japanese"], among others. Stereogum previously opined that "Haru Nemuri is a Japanese woman making some of the wildest genre-defiant music I’ve heard in a while...Art Angels would be a suitable reference point, if Grimes was Japanese and performing with her finger in an electronic socket and it all took place inside a video game." In 2020, her song "Seventh Heaven" was featured as the theme song of the Japanese movie "Colorless."
or a shorter version example
"Single from the Swiss producer and DJ. Features frequent collaborator and vocalist Emilia Sonate. "Fallin’ Apart" is a buoyant, danceable dedication to the onset of Spring and the relaxing feelings it brings. Adon is a classically trained musician working in the pop sphere. His debut single is a perfect fit for dance and pop playlists."
