Junior Scheduling Form
English (4 credits) – All students must complete one credit of English I, English II and English III (Writing Intensive Course). Junior English class = English III.  Electives are: Creative Writing, Film Literature and Young Adult Literature.

Math (3 Credits) - All students are required to complete one credit each of Algebra and Geometry.                                Junior math class choices = Geometry or Algebra II.  

Science (3 credits) Junior science class choices = Chemistry or  Ag Science: Crops and Soils & Animal Science or Botany and Vet Technology with Basic Agriculture prerequisite.

Social Studies (3 credits) - One credit of US History/Civics (sophomore classes – writing intensive) and .5 credit of Government are required.  Junior social science class choices = Social Issues (.5) Geography (.5), World History (.5) and Philosophy (.5 credit).   Black Hawk College SOC 101 and PSYC 101 are .5 each.  

Physical Education/Health (4.0 credits) Students may waive pe (Juniors and Seniors) the semester they participate in a sport, but must take a class in its place. Students must also take one semester of health (.5).

Other graduation requirements: Driver’s Education (.5) and Consumer Economics (.5) are required for graduation.

General Electives (7.0 credits) Electives can be any course that is not being used for any of the above criteria.

Agriculture – Ag Business Management (only offered on the beginning of odd school years school year ex. 2019-20) (1 credit-offered every other year) may be used in place of Consumer Education with the prerequisite of Basic Ag and one other ag class. Other electives are Horticulture I and II (1 credit) and Ag Tech 1 (Construction-.5) and Ag Tech II (Welding-.5) and BSAA (Botany)/PSAA (Vet Tech) (only offered on the beginning of even school years school year ex. 2020-21).

Fine Arts – Band (1), Chorus (1) and Beginning Art (.5)/Studio Art (.5).  

Foreign Language - Spanish I, II or III/IV (1 credit each)

Industrial Technology – Prerequisite for other IT courses (Woodworking and Intro to IT).  Class Choices = Carpentry I and II (1.0), Cabinetmaking I and II (1.0) and Architectural Design I and II (1.0).  

STEM - Technology Inquiry (.5), Computer Programming (.5), Emerging Technologies (.5), Robotics (.5) and Computer Maintenance (1). (STEM classes can count as science credits)


All Juniors will take English lll, PE (or waiver but must be in a sport during that semester), Science, and Social Studies. All students will have a study hall.
