Systems Installer // Carpenter
Thank you for your interest in coming to work with us at Acorn to Arabella! Here's a very basic description of the two positions we're looking to fill. We may end up hiring multiple people to do different facets of the jobs if that's what we get for candidates. For example, if you're good with diesel engines in particular, it's possible to come do that installation over a couple of weeks while we get another candidate for the other work.

Acorn to Arabella is a boatbuilding project in Granby, Massachusetts documented on YouTube. The boat has been built of wood harvested on the farm where the builder grew up, and he's the fifth generation to be there. The plan is to launch in early summer 2023, and to keep that schedule, we need help with first-time systems installation in this brand new boat. We also need some general carpentry work.

Installation tasks would include:
—Nanni Diesel with remote filtration (guidance from the manufacturer is available), exhaust, through-hulls, hoses, shaft alignment, stuffing box, cockpit controls
—12-volt batteries (LiFePO4 banks)
—12-volt electrical appliances (cabin lights, nav lights, cabin fans, nav gear, diesel heater, breaker panels, etc.)
—Plumbing for two sinks, bilge pumps, and a water maker

For all of these, a plan for placement will have been decided and the equipment has already been purchased and is already in hand or on its way. The job here is to execute these plans and, if the candidate is able, to improve upon them and sweeten those plans as they go. We cannot provide housing on-site, but we can talk about what's possible in the area if you need to relocate for this temporary position.
