Staff applications close Sunday August 22nd  at 11:59 PM EST.  Applications will be reviewed by the Chair, a past RYLA chair, and a Rotary Advisor. We may contact you to discuss your application and find the best way for you to be apart of RYLA given your experience, interests, and most importantly the time and energy you have to devote to the program given your other commitments and responsibilities. If you have been apart of the team before, please note that several changes have been made to the role from previous years so be sure to read the description below carefully before submitting an application.

The RYLA year follows the Rotary year (July 1st, 2021- June 30th, 2022) and staff responsibilities apply to that timeframe (in practice, starting in the month of August). Staff should expect to put in 1-2 hours a week on average throughout the year (more during busier times particularly during planning in the late Summer/ Fall and during camp, and less during less busy times). Staff are integral to program and activity planning and facilitating activities and small groups at camp. It is therefore essential that all staff commit to a weekend of program planning Sept. 17th-19th, 2021 (most likely virtual this year, but in future years in person ) as well as attendance during the full duration of the camp May 27th-29th, 2022 which will take place at a summer camp near Kingston (yayyyy bye online!!!). October through April, staff must also commit to a two-hour planning meeting once a month (online), dates and times to be determined amongst the group. Being a staff member is a rewarding and memorable experience, but it is not for everyone. If you cannot commit to being a staff member but would still like to be involved in some capacity you could consider volunteering during the event with our Logistics and Registration Team or joining us as a guest for sessions, meals, or to run a workshop or presentation, just send us an email at ryla7040@gmail.com.
