Symposium Application Fall 2019
Thank you for your interest in Symposium!

Here at Symposium, we want to develop a more internationally oriented perspective. We host biweekly student-led seminars to debate a wide range of topics in a relaxed setting. We also offer fellowships for students to teach cross-cultural seminars abroad in countries with limited access to liberal arts style education.

In the past, we have held seminars in such locations as Bangkok, Beijing, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Islamabad, Mumbai, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Taichung. On campus, we have discussed everything from Keats' poetry to epistemology to Confucian texts.

We would love to work with you to facilitate intercultural dialogues on campus and across the world. We welcome new ideas for projects! Feel free to reach out to us at symposiumboard@columbia.edu.
