Puddletown - Application for Girl student Chess Scholarship

Puddletown is thrilled with the latest 2023-July OSCF board decision to make the 2024 Team tournament a co-ed event.  Puddletown has been promoting chess for underrepresented minorities, especially girls from their very beginning.

In order to support and make the 2024 OSCF Co-ed Team tournament a successful event, Puddletown is committing to the following:

In addition to FREE TRAINING for Girls/Non-binary players program, Puddletown is also excited to donate and sponsor any after-school training program fees for girls in rural areas of Oregon. We have earmarked $3000 for this initiative in the 2023-24 school year. Each school’s chess coach in a rural area can apply and receive this donation for up to $300 as long as this amount is earmarked to help offset the cost of training girl chess players.
