Brighten Up Caroline LED Light Bulb Order Form
Brighten Up Caroline held its spring time LED lightbulb distribution, on the weekend of April 24th, 2021. But there are bulbs left over and the program would still be happy to get them to Caroline residents and others.

All Caroline residents who did not get their light bulbs already (in the fall of 2019 and/or the spring of 2021) are eligible to place their orders now. Those orders can then be picked up at the Town Clerk's office (2670 Slaterville Rd) or in some cases delivered by a volunteer. Someone will contact you to make final arrangements.

In addition, the program is happy to collect suggestions for worthy individuals, programs, or organizations where the extra LEDs could go.

The Brighten Up Caroline project is made possible by a grant from NYSERDA, the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority. In order to fulfill the conditions of our agreement with NYSERDA, we began by asking residents to sign an agreement stating that they understood various conditions of the program. Now, because of the pandemic, we are trying to minimize all contact!

By filling out this order form, you agree that:

* You understand that using LED bulbs instead of incandescent bulbs will save you up to $100 per bulb
* You will install the bulbs you are given right away, so that you (and the town of Caroline) can begin saving electricity immediately
* You agree to be contacted by telephone or email by a volunteer with the Brighten Up program (if you are randomly chosen from among all the recipients), to confirm that your bulbs were installed and to ask if you have other questions, concerns or comments.

How many LED light bulbs can you put to good use right now in your home? Each residence can receive up to 18 bulbs -- if you already received 12, for example, you can ask for 6 more.
Our LED light bulbs give the equivalent light to a warm, 60W incandescent bulb. They are the same size and shape as a normal incandescent bulb, can be used with most modern dimmer switches, and are safe for use in damp locations like bathrooms. Unlike compact fluorescent light bulbs, they do not need time to warm up and they contain no toxic chemicals. Each bulb uses 1/6th of the electricity used by a 60W incandescent bulb, and will save you roughly $100 in electricity costs over the lifetime of the bulb.
If you don't need any LED bulbs but you would like a copy of our revised "Road Map to Home Energy Efficiency," let us know here.  If you don't need any more bulbs yourself but you think your church or your child's classroom as school could use some, let us know here. And, share any other ideas, questions, or concerns....
