Overview: This interdisciplinary colloquium will explore the philosophy and political economy of empire, war, and peace. The topics discussed will include the strengths and
weaknesses of just war theory, arguments for and against empire, and the
connection between war and government growth at home. These topics are relevant
to some of the most pressing issues in the world today.
