• That the animal I am adopting from New Beginnings will be taken care of to the best of my ability and I will personally be responsible for taking care of the animal.
• That I will give the animal proper shelter and a proper place to sleep, proper food and clean water
• That in case of a dog, I will make sure that my fence is secure, gates are locked and will prevent the dog to escape and make sure my pet will always wear a name tag.
• That in case of a cat, I will keep it indoors for at least two months from date of adoption in order to adjust and have it wear a name tag with my contact details and also supply proper food, water and toilet.
• That I will treat the animal against parasites and that I will have the animal receive annual shots
• That in case of a dog, I will have the dog on a proper leash when leaving my home to travel or walk with the animal.
• That in case of a cat, I will keep the cat in a proper carrier when traveling with it.
• That, in case I am, for any reason whatsoever, no longer able to take care of the pet, I will immediately contact New Beginnings and return the animal into their care. Animals may under NO circumstances be given away to anybody else or re-homed through another organisation. A penalty fee of R200 will be charged for returned animals and adoption fees will, under no circumstances, be refunded. Legal steps will be taken if New Beginnings does follow up visits and the animal is not on your property without informing us.
• That if the animal gets lost or dies, I will immediately inform New Beginnings about it.
• That I will at all times see to it that my pet have adequate nutritional food and clean water.
• That I will take my pet to a certified veterinarian when it becomes ill or injured and I understand that once I adopted the animal, all expenses towards illness and injuries are for my own account and cannot be claimed from New Beginnings. I also understand that New Beginnings does everything in their power to ensure the animal is healthy before going home, but like with any animals, can show symptoms at a later stage, there for I will take the animal to a vet a few weeks later to ensure the animal is still healthy.
• That I will arrange with New Beginnings for sterilisation of my pet at the age of 6 months if I adopted a puppy or kitten.
• That I will notify New Beginnings immediately if I move and send them photographs and updates of my adopted pet.
• That all my other pets' vaccinations are up to date and they are sterilised.
(ii) I here with give permission that a representative of New Beginnings can visit the adopted pet at any
reasonable time in order to evaluate the condition and circumstances of the pet, and if found unsatisfactory, that New Beginnings will have the right to remove the pet from my care.
(iii) I understand that New Beginnings cannot give any guarantees regarding the temperament and behavior of
the pet I am adopting and rid New Beginnings of any damage which may be caused by the animal.
(iv) I herewith indemnify New Beginnings from any cost or legal obligation which might occur as a result of
signing this agreement.
(v) I herewith declare that all information given to New Beginnings regarding this agreement is true and
correct.
