Elementary Age Sunday School (grades 1-6). This takes place 3-4 Sundays per month October 1-mid June during Sunday Sermons that are not multi-generational.  To prepare our youngest congregants for worshiping in our sanctuary as they grow, we introduce basic UU rituals and practices. Each Sunday, the children participate in lighting a chalice, sharing joys and concerns, and reading storybooks with a focus on our Seven Principles. Additionally, the children will enjoy free play, music, and arts & crafts guided by the caregivers. Are you enrolling your child for Sunday School RE? Please note that if you are not, your child will remain with you during adult focused Sunday Sermons.

Our Whole Lives (OWL) is being offered for children entering grades 7-9 this year. OWL is an age appropriate, interactive curriculum that engages participants and helps them to make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior at every stage. With a holistic approach, OWL provides accurate, developmentally appropriate information about a range of topics, including relationships, gender identity, sexual orientation, sexual health, and cultural influences on sexuality. OWL is a key measure in creating a safe congregation and giving students the tools to be empowered in their personal rights. There are 25 modules in the program which are taught over 13-15 sessions that each last 2-3 hours. All the sessions are held in-person, most of them at Hunterdon UU on Sunday afternoons. The program begins in October and runs through May. In addition to these formal sessions, we will be scheduling several "social" events in the fall so the youth can get to know each other and build a sense of community. Are you enrolling your child for OWL this year?
