Check-In Student Survey + Reflection (ENG 3402, Spring 2022, Professor Belli)
We're already 1/3 of the way through the Spring semester ... time really does fly! It's a good time to pause, reflect, take stock of where we've been and where we're going, and to make sure you're on track to be as successful as possible in this course.

As with the first survey (from the beginning of the semester), I appreciate your time and thoughtfulness in completing this survey and reflection. All responses provided here will be used to help me provide a better course experience for you and other students. Of course,  students' privacy will be respected and responses will be kept anonymous (only I will see them, attached to your personal info.). I know some of these questions may feel sensitive/personal to you, so please share (here, and in all Sections of this survey) only what you feel comfortable sharing.

I wish my professor knew ... *
Use this opportunity to share with me anything you think would be helpful for me to know. It can be one thing or many things ... you decide :)
Please reflect on how you're doing in this course at this point? *
*You can certainly include your experiences and emotions, but above all your reflection below should be grounded in the facts of the work you've done this semester. This response should be evidence-based: go back and look at the Schedule and consider the assignments we've had and what you've submitted, the Syllabus, your attendance and participation, etc.
As you know, this is a discussion-based, community-oriented class. Active participation throughout the semester is key to your success in the course. While having cameras on is not mandatory, it is highly encouraged and expected that--whenever possible--students turn on their videos during synchronous classes and office hours to facilitate interaction and engagement. Everyone indicated in the initial Student Survey that they had the technology and planned to regularly use their cameras. If you haven't been doing so and you feel comfortable sharing, I'd be interested to learn how having your camera off (or on) impacts your learning experience, and what your plans are for the rest of the semester (and why). *
If you had to give yourself a midterm grade right now, what would it be? *
According to the College Academic Calendar, faculty will inform students of midterm grades by Thursday, 3/24.
Why did you assign yourself the midterm grade you did above? (please be as specific as possible) *
If you had to give yourself a letter grade for the course at this point, what would it be? *

*Remember that if you are unable to attend due to a conflict (e.g., another class, job, family responsibilities), I am also always available to see you by appointment. All you have to do is email me to set up an appointment!
Are you able to attend any portion of my regularly scheduled Office Hours this semester (Tuesdays 12:30-1:30pm)? If not, why not? *
Have you sought out additional help this semester (Writing Center, ASAP tutoring, etc.)? If so, please specify. *
What additional resources would you find useful at this time to help you be successful in this course? *
Any questions / concerns about the course at this point? *
Any feedback for me at this time? *
