The vision of Be the Village is to mobilize the community in supporting vulnerable children and their families to promote restoration. With a shortage of foster homes in NH, retention of foster families is crucial. On average, 50% percent of foster families do not continue for a second year, putting kids back into the system and deepening their trauma. We want to wraparound foster families providing emotional and tangible support to strengthen their network, helping to sustain the family and minimize burnout.

A support contact is assigned to each foster family. The support contact checks in on the family and helps to identify and fill needs by communicating needs to other volunteers and the community. Are you interested in learning more about this role?
