Expectations:
Be Punctual: If a DM claims a time slot, they are expected to arrive at their game 30 minutes prior to have it setup and ready to go when players arrive. We understand real life happens, but you must communicate with us if something comes up. If a DM consistently is showing up late or canceling games, they won’t be asked to run games.
Appropriate Personal Presentation: DMs are required to wear clothing without holes/rips, nor clothing containing offensive language/imagery. Closed toed shoes must be worn at all times. Practice basic personal hygiene, ensuring you do not smell, and look presentable.
Have Fun: The goal for the store and the community is for everyone to have fun. We are playing games that people are participating in because they are looking to relax and have fun. If you notice someone isn't having fun, please let us know at the end of the game, or on a break. If there is something we can do to make their visit better the next time, we want to make sure we address it.
Attitude/Harassment: This is not something anyone wants to experience while playing games. If anything comes up regarding someone acting out in an inappropriate way, let us know immediately so we can address it. At the end of the day the store is responsible for things that go wrong and we need to be made aware, regardless of how petty or severe it may seem.
You represent the store: Please don’t use obscene language or gestures for the public ear/eye to witness. I am not saying that you can't have fun, but we do have younger people in the store and parents might not want them to hear/see certain things. This can include something in game also, be aware that even though you are in character, perception is everything.
Store Property: Players are not responsible for miniatures or terrain, DMs are. With the exception of their own personal miniatures, players should not be picking up miniatures or terrain. We have had multiple things break and no one has told us. If only one person is touching things, then it lowers the chances of something being dropped.
Damages to property: If something breaks, please let us know right away. We understand accidents happen, but if we lose a piece and it can't be repaired, we are not just out the cost of the miniature but also all the time it took to paint it for everyone to use.
Community Engagement: We strive to create a community of DMs and players that are engaging with each other. Our current form of communication is Discord. We expect DMs to engage and reply in the DM Discussion whenever the store is requesting information. We are not asking you to always be on call, but please be punctual in your response time. If a player is asking a specific question regarding the store please leave that to official employees, if someone is asking a more generic question, please feel free to help them out. When in doubt, please send them to our website and tag a store official.
Running One-Shot Games:
Treasure reward: Below is a table that states the total value of treasure a DM can give per game. This can be any combination of magic items, gold, etc as long as the total value does not exceed the party value
Level Treasure Value (total for whole party)
1-4 450 gold
5-9 4,500 gold
Shared World: The goal of Legends of the Den is to create a shared world that players and DMs together shape. The Factions, Gods, and Established locations should be used in all stories because they are very much important to the world everyone is trying to build. We want everyone to have fun and be creative, but we really want to make sure the goal is for players to feel they are playing in the same world no matter which table they are sitting at.
Shared Locations and NPCs. No one person owns the stories that take place in the Legends of the Den. Everyone is free to use locations and NPCs that others have created. That being said, they should be treated with respect. If you do plan to use a Location/NPC make sure that you are trying to stay true to what the creator intended. Killing or Destroying a Location/NPC should be talked about as a group to make sure that is what’s best for the world story.
