Thanks for your interest in performing at the 2022 Rainbow Trout Music Festival (RTMF).  The festival takes place just south of Winnipeg near St. Malo from Aug 19-21.  Applications to perform close Feb 14, 2022.

The RTMF is one of Manitoba’s favourite independent local music festivals.  Founded and organized by volunteers, the RTMF holds true to its DIY roots while creating a highly organized, safe, fun and unbeatable summer festival experience.  

We are dedicated to building line-ups that highlight the diversity in Winnipeg’s music community.  Bands from around Manitoba and Canada also sometimes find their way onto the roster and we welcome them to apply as well.

Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of jurors (incl. Artistic Director) selected by the RTMF to reflect the festival values and the local music community.  Bands will be chosen based on many factors beyond the quality of their recordings.  For Musical genre, past live performances and diversity among members are factors that will be taken into consideration.  

Preferential treatment will not be given to friends or acquaintances of the panel.  No members of the jury will be performing at the festival.  Some bands may also be contacted outside of the submission process to be reviewed by the Jury.

***The RTMF is a registered Not-For-Profit and is entirely organized by volunteers including the board of directors and all organizing members.  Please bear this in mind when reviewing our compensation package.

Base compensation includes:
1. Weekend passes plus camping for all band members ($100+ value each), sorry NO +1's or comps for guests.
2. Minimum $50 per band member (bands with 5 members and over paid max $250 unless otherwise negotiated)
3. Access to the Volunteer Camping Area (sweet shady & quiet goodness)
4. Additional fees and payments are negotiable, however not always possible.

As Covid-19 is still a thing, we will be relying on government guidelines to determine the manner in which the festival will be held, and will be in contact with successful applicants as the situation progresses.
