Spring 2021 Carrel Request
As part of its phased Safe Reopening Plan, the E.M. White library is making 12 select, socially distanced carrels available for currently enrolled LPTS students. Carrel assignments are available starting March 1 and are for the rest of the Spring semester, subject to adherence to all library guidelines. Carrel assignments will be based on student need and seniority.
Hours available for access:
M, Tu, & F : 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
W, Th: 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Every other Saturday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. - March 6, March 20, April 3, April 17, and May 1
Complete this form to request a study carrel. By completing it you agree to follow the Carrel Use Guidelines.
Patron Agreement to Study Carrel Use Guidelines:
+ 1 visit per day only -- no exiting and returning on the same day
+ Complete designated Facilities Sign-in Log in lobby upon arrival
+ Provide ID (preferably LPTS but other official ID is acceptable) to be held at the Information Desk while in the building
+ Must wear mask upon entering and in all areas of the library
+Browsing and borrowing from the circulating collections is not permitted
+Not take reference books out of the Reference room
+Books may be requested for check out and kept in the carrel
+Use the bathroom/restroom on the main floor - Level 3 only
+Not use elevators, basement bathrooms, or go to Level 1
+ Only one person in assigned carrel at any given time - no visitors or congregating allowed
+ Electric appliances or apparatus for heating food or water are not permitted
+Light food (e.g. nuts, protein bar) and beverages are allowed as long as they are in tightly covered containers
+ Zoom or other video conferencing is allowed provided volume levels are low and do not disturb others in the building (headphones are recommended)
+ Cell phone calls kept to a minimum
Violation of library/seminary safety policies and carrel guidelines will result in forfeiture of carrel.
