Primary Sources and Performance: Developing Student Empathy with Documentary Theatre
Join TPS- Mars Hill University and Ping Chong + Company for a week-long study of theatre strategies that can be used in all content areas to deepen student analysis of primary sources and connections to current events in order to develop empathy for others. This Summer Institute is free for all educators. Educators may choose to stay on campus in our guest home for $35 per night, June 27- July 1. Workshops will run daily from 9:00- 4:00.  Our week will include participation in theatre techniques, sample lessons from NC teachers, professional instruction from Ping Chong + Co. and time to create a ready-to-use primary source set for your classrooms. Snacks and lunch will be provided free of charge. Registration will remain open until May 31st.
