Below is a description of each of our committees. Members can join as many committees as they would like!
Student Engagement - We host a number of activities throughout the year for K-12 and collegiate students to provide opportunities to engage with architects and designers and learn more about the field of design. This committee also organizes our annual Project Pipeline Camp, NOMA's signature architecture summer camp for high school students! Mentors are always welcome!
Membership - Our members are the heart of our chapter. The membership committee develops initiatives to attract new members and retain existing ones. This includes membership drives, member appreciation events, and Bmore NOMA swag.
Professional Development - We seek to cultivate the spirit of life-long learning through networking events, topical roundtable discussions, lunch-and-learns, and mentorship. All programs related to licensure and passing the AREs are also organized by our Professional Development Committee.
Programming - If you have a passion for planning social events, celebratory parties, and signature keynotes, be a part of the Programming Committee. Our robust calendar of events ensures there is something for everyone within Bmore NOMA, and your voice deserves to be heard in the type of programs we put on year after year.
Outreach & Advocacy - Community engagement and activism are the foundation of NOMA's mission. The goal of this committee is to ensure our members are connected to opportunities that allow them to utilize their skills and expertise in ways that benefit communities of color and the built environment, including community service events, pro bono design programming, and voter engagement & education. (Committee Chair position is currently available.)
Communications - Our social media presence has grown exponentially in the last year and our monthly newsletter ensures our members stay connected and informed about everything that we do! Join this committee if you have a knack for verbal communications, are social media savvy, or have strong graphic design skills!
General Volunteer - Perhaps you don't want to commit to a committee just yet, but you still want to help out with an event now and then! Join our volunteer list to stay in the know about potential volunteer opportunities.
