What is a U.P. ambassador?

An Upper Peninsula Ambassador is someone who is passionate about Michigan’s U.P. and represents it well through their photos, videos or blogs on social media. They’re someone who loves outdoor adventure, exploring the U.P. and sharing the natural beauty of our region — the sights, trails, waterfalls, beaches, great lakes and wilderness. It's someone who inspires others to go outside and play in the U.P.

We’re curating a team of U.P. natives or U.P. enthusiasts who frequently visit to be our Upper Peninsula Ambassadors. If you’re out exploring and capturing everything the U.P. has to offer — outdoor recreation, historic landmarks, unique foods, events and attractions — you could be a great candidate! We want to partner with you and share your passion with others. Here’s what’s in it for you:

Official U.P. Ambassador swag (t-shirt, cap, etc.)
Entry into exclusive prize giveaways
Featured on our Upper Peninsula Ambassadors landing page (below)
Featured on our social media platforms (we’ll tag you on social to introduce you to our followers)
Featured on our travel blog (we’ll share your blog posts if you’re a blogger)
Rights to use the title “Upper Peninsula Ambassador” on your own social accounts and website
Our goal for the Upper Peninsula Ambassador program is to find people who are passionate about the U.P. and are posting their adventures on social media for others to follow along. We want to showcase your amazing talent and personal experiences.

How to Become an Ambassador

What you’ll be required to do as an Upper Peninsula Ambassador:

Fill out the application below
Live in or close enough to the Upper Peninsula to frequently visit
Follow us on all social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube and TikTok)
Subscribe to our e-newsletter
Use the #uptravel hashtag on your posts about the U.P.
Tag us @uptravel in your U.P. photos and videos
If you have a blog, link to uptravel.com in your U.P. blog posts
Create content to use on all platforms
Need to post regularly about the U.P.
Upload your content to our Crowdriff Collector so we can share it on our social channels, in newsletters or on our website
