Charter Review

Dear Parents and Whanau,

This year the school staff, students, Board of Trustees and parents contribute to the review the three year school Charter. It is to be updated in readiness for the start of the 2021 school year. Your thoughts are important in this process.

A school charter is a legal requirement and binding agreement between a School’s Board of Trustees, the School’s community and the Ministry of Education.

The Charter sets out to

Reflects what the board is doing to make a difference for student progress and achievement.

We at Ponsonby Primary are currently planning our 2021 School Charter, and in it, we must consider the needs of students from Year 0 right through to Year 6. The Charter must also reflect the community’s goals and aspirations for the school. This process ensures that parents, staff, community, students have the opportunity to have a say and contribute their ideas.

We recognise that parent/whanau involvement and student wellbeing play such an important  role in a students education at Ponsonby Primary school .

We talk about facilitating all students at our school to be “Ponsonby Fliers”. What does a “Ponsonby Flier” mean to you? Recognising all the below are important could you please identify 3 that are most important to you?
Please add  any other essential element of being a Ponsonby Flier that you think we may have missed.
