We are pleased to invite you to
the 2024 Jean Nicod Prize and Lectures !The Prize is awarded to Christopher Peacocke (Johnsonian Professor of Philosophy at Columbia University). His work has broadened from the philosophy of mind and language into general issues concerning the proper integration of metaphysics, epistemology, and the theory of understanding. A continuing concern with the nature of perception and its content led him to think more about the perception of music, for which he was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship.
Pr. Peacocke will present his take on "Understanding Music" in a series of 4 lectures in English. They will take place in person only and will be subject to availability at the Ecole Normale Supérieure.
The Jean Nicod Lectures are funded by the Meyer Foundation for Cultural and Artistic Development the CNRS and the Fondation CNRS, with the support of the École Normale Supérieure-Université PSL and the EHESS.
