Join Girls Rock Philly's Youth Action Council!
Girls Rock Philly has opened applications for new members to join Youth Action Council, our youth leadership body. YAC is a paid opportunity, open to participants who are new to GRP programming!

Youth Action Council (YAC) is a group of GRP participants, 14 to 19 years old, that aim to give you a louder voice in deciding GRP’s programming, our city, and our wider world. A leadership body for GRP teens, each cohort explores and determines the scope of their work and creative projects on a semester basis.
Most meetings, unless otherwise noted, will happen virtually on Zoom, bi-weekly, and run for about 90 minutes.  Please note: we will consider meeting in person occasionally, and communicate our Covid Safety Policies to Members with acceptances. In-Person attendance is not a requirement for YAC members. Participants will be paid $40 per meeting.

The term for this Spring cohort will begin January 2023 (Following the fall session, YAC members will be invited to continue on into 2023. While historically we've recommended previous participation in GRP programming, all applicants passionate about fearless self-expression, social justice, artistic collaboration and community care will be considered!

PROJECTS MAY INCLUDE:
**Shaping curriculum for GRP workshops, trainings, and events
**Collaboration with other Youth Organizers on Direct Actions
**Organizing for political change 
**Building relationships with GRP Board members and attend board meetings

Application Process
1. Submit the application form by the deadline (December 28th, 2022)
2. Participate in a phone interview with GRP (we’ll reach out to you!)
3. Stay tuned for announcement of new members between January 2 - 6th. 
4. Our first YAC meeting will be in the second week of January, date and time determined by cohort availability.
