Please join us for our monthly youth and adult chess tournaments. 

Date and Time: Saturday, March 25th, 12:00-5:00pm (registration day of begins at 11:30am)

Location: Scottish American Society of Dunedin, 917 Louden Ave, Dunedin, FL 34698

Rules: Rated Sections, Four-Round Swiss Tournament. Time control: G/30 (30 min game). 

Entry Fees: $30 for pre-registration and $40 for day of registration. Pre-registration will be open until Thursday, 3/23/23 until 9:00 pm.

Payment: We accept Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Cash or Check. When sending an electronic payment, please list the player's full name.

Awards: Trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for all youth sections. All youth players will receive a personalize participation certificate. Adult Open Section Cash Prizes b/20 players; 1st - $150, 2nd - $100, 3rd - $50, Top u1700 - $50, Top u1400 - $50.

Ratings: Players competing in the rated sections must have USCF membership (this is not necessary for the unrated section). You can obtain a yearly USCF membership here. You can also register for one at the tournament, there will be a $5 convenience fee. 

Chess Sets: If you have a chess set/clock please bring it. There will be 15 sets available for use on a first-come, first-serve basis. Here is one we recommend. 

Parking: There are 7 parking spots on the side of the building and a large free public lot in front of the building. There is also additional street parking on Main Street, please be aware some spots require payment. There are many free parking lots in Dunedin. The closest to the tournament are the lots at the Hospital and the one next to Clear Sky Draught House. 

Food: Pizza, drinks and candy will be available for purchase. Outside food/drinks permitted.

Things to do: Dunedin is a great little city with a wonderfully walkable downtown area. There are many restaurants and shops to explore and a Saturday morning market from 9:00 am-2:00 pm. Check out stuff to do in Dunedin here.
