Post COVID-19 pandemic - extra-curricular space educational activities assessment

Overview

The emergence of COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the most devastating global public health crisis for over a century. Notwithstanding the many challenges that the COVID-19 virus poses for our personal and professional lives, it is widely recognized that it offered significant opportunities that enhanced the interest in emerging economic fields, such as the space sector, as well as a better understanding of the sustainable development of our societies.

In the context of the UNESCO “Next Normal” initiative issued in 2021 and UN SDG for Quality Education, https://www.sdg4education2030.org/education-2030-framework-action-unesco-2015

https://www.unesco.org/en/education/education2030-sdg4/need-know , as part of the International Astronautical Federation - Space Education and Outreach Committee (IAF SEOC) and Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), a team of passionate space educators formed by Alev Sonmez (Space Educator & OHB Satellite Structural Engineer), Prof. Alejandro Roman Molinas (Paraguay Space Agency - General Director of Aerospace Development), Yumna Majeed (founder of Exploration by Yumna, member of International Astronomical Union and SGAC), Rayan Khan (Founder of Cosmic Tribe) and Alina Vizireanu (co-founder of AVINTERRA Consulting and AIM SPACE, member of the IAF SEOC), want to better understand how best can they support educational systems worldwide through engaging with teachers and instructors and implementing new space activities to foster pupils’ development of creativity and imagination. For this, we have issued the current survey to measure the impact of space educational activities conducted in your institution as part of post-COVID-19 recovery strategic plans.

Your support would be thoroughly appreciated and, if willing to accept, your name and educational establishment will be acknowledged as pat of the study, due to be presented during the International Astronautical Congress 2022 (IAC2022) in Paris, France.

For any further questions or if interested for further collaborations, please feel free to contact our team through Alina Vizireanu and Rayan Khan.
