Application form - Mentees
The IPEd Mentoring Program is open to financial members (at any level) of IPEd or the Canberra Society of Editors. The only prerequisites are that you have attended at least one training course or workshop that has covered the basics of editing and proofreading, and have done some copyediting or proofreading.

We offer 2 types of mentorship:
1. Standard ($275): These mentorships last between 2 and 3 months (around 8 hours), although they may extend over a longer period depending on the circumstances.
2. Mini-mentorship ($143): These mentorships last no more than 45 hours and are focussed on a specific topic or area of editing. They may be particularly useful for students or other mentees who don't require a full mentorship but would benefit from a mentor's advice about a particular topic.

The success of a mentorship is largely dependent on the success of the personal relationship between mentor and mentee. We do our best to match mentors and mentees for personality, relevant work experience, and the mentor’s ability to help the mentee. If a relationship does not work out, you or your mentor should contact your local coordinator to discuss a possible re-matching. A mentorship can also end if your goals are met earlier than expected.

Please complete this form and answer the questions as fully as possible. It will help us to make sure that you are matched with the most suitable mentor for your needs. All information is stored securely, and will not be made available to anyone other than members of the IPEd Mentoring Standing Committee.
