Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS)

Products sold at the market must be in compliance with VDACS regulations.  VDACS Food Safety Program is charged with ensuring a safe, wholesome, and properly labeled food supply for the citizens of the Commonwealth.  The program discharges this responsibility through conducting periodic unannounced inspections of food processors, food storage warehouses, and food retail stores.  The program monitors the food supply by making these inspections and through the collection of food samples to be analyzed for pesticide residues, mycotoxins, microbiological contamination, filth, standards, and labeling. Growers/Producers must complete a Farm Visit Certification Form.  To obtain an inspection, please call the manager of the WFM @ 276-620-4095 or email, info@wythefarmers.org. 

Artisan vendors must complete an Artisan Application and have their products juried, prior to selling at the market.

The vendor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Wythe Bland Community Foundation, the Wytheville Farmers Market, the Market Board of Directors, the Market Manager, the Market Volunteers, and the Town of Wytheville from any and all causes of action that may rise from the operation of the Farmers Market, not caused by negligence of the Wytheville Farmers Market.  The Farmers Market will not discriminate against any applicant for vendor space because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or marital status.

Wytheville Farmers Market is the provider and manager of a venue to connect local farmers and artisans with the community, and as such, rents spaces to independent farms, artisans, etc.  For this reason, it is recommended that you as a vendor carry your own liability policy for your company.  Wytheville Farmers Market suggests that you speak with a licensed agent to determine if a product and/or general liability policy is a good fit for you and your company.  Wytheville Farmers Market carries an insurance policy for the premises of the market as it pertains to customers being on the premises and the officers and managers of the market; however, this coverage does not extend to the individual vendors and their products or general liability.  Having insurance is NOT a requirement to vend at the market. 

If you choose to not obtain insurance, that is your choice and will not hinder your ability to stay at the market; however, by signing this form you are agreeing that you will either obtain proper insurance or waive obtaining it with the understanding of how the liability pertains to yourself and/or company.  You agree to hold Wytheville Farmers Market harmless of any responsibility, debt, and/or liability, as it relates to your individual items being sold, carried, stored, or otherwise maintained in your space, person, and/or vehicle should any of these items or employee/owner’s neglect cause injury or damage to any person(s) or property or any other situation in which damages could be sought.
