As we aspire to provide more support to the College of West Africa (CWA), the mentoring program will provide an opportunity for mentors to help mentees gain new perspective on life, career choices and build their self-confidence. Mentoring provides assistance to students at CWA to help them develop knowledge and skills in their areas of interest. Those in various occupations can sign up to be a mentor and inform students/ mentees about the industry related to the mentees' career goals. Mentors will share insights with mentees to better prepare them for various professions and offer suggestions to promote readiness for these professions. The program is for the duration of the academic year. Mentors will be paired with mentees by ROW Academic Committee. Meeting arrangement will be done with a mutual agreement. An evaluation must be completed by mentor and mentee at the end of the program.
To maintain the integrity of the mentor program, we expect complete professionalism from our mentors and mentees. Mentors must have great communication skills, be a good career coach, and keep information gathered from mentee confidential.
