Lion Heart Dance Company is excited to open applications for our Youth Company for 2023 - an opportunity for a select group of promising dancers to train and perform at an elite level.

Designed to support studios in developing high-potential emerging talent - without taking away from their regular training or overburdening them with commitments - the dancers in the Youth Company will take part in a transformative and exciting year-long program. With a focus on "high intensity, low frequency" training, the dancers will participate in monthly intensives on a Sunday where they will undertake workshops with company artists and teachers, learn repertoire and be challenged to develop as artists alongside the adult company. In term 3, the Youth Company will perform in their own full length work as part of the adult company season.

This program has been specifically designed to provide a unique opportunity for additional growth that seeks to partner with the phenomenal studios of Melbourne, who provide essential training and education for young dancers, rather than competing for these young dancers' time. With competitions, concerts, academic studies and exams, there is already so much being asked of our young talent; the Lion Heart Youth Company will meet monthly for a full day to train with laser-focussed intent and at a very high level.

Please note: successful applicants will be asked to gain permission from their current studio director to participate. Applicants must not already be committed to another on-going external training program that may clash or cause them to miss out on sessions.

Application Checklist:
- For ages 10 - 12yo in our Juniors stream and 13+ in our Seniors stream
- Get a parent/guardian's permission to apply
- Complete the rego form below
- Provide us with video footage of you dancing - it can be at home, from a previous performance or anywhere. We just want to see how you move and make sure you're ready for this level of training.

Successful applicants will be notified by email and will be required to complete all permission and registration forms, payments and sizing forms by the due date to secure their spot. Places are strictly limited to preserve the integrity of the experience and failure to submit forms on time may result in your position being offered to another applicant.

- Dates: Once a month on Sundays 
- Time: 9:30am - 4:30pm
- Location: Australian Academy of Dance in Malvern
- Cost: $1500 ($1350 early bird) with payment plans available
