Here are brief explanations for each of our committees and their roles:
Brotherhood: Inform Ordeal members of Brotherhood eligibility and teach/assist the Brotherhood Conversion process
Council Relations: Promote OA relations with the council via district roundtables and camporees, contribute to OA support of the Cub Scout and camping programs.
Ceremonies: Responsible for the Pre-Ordeal, Ordeal, and Brotherhood Ceremonies. Assists chapters with call-out ceremonies.
Communications: Maintains the Lodge website, email communications lists, newsletters, and social media pages.
Dance Team: Performs Native American dances for the Lodge, chapters, council, district, units, and the community. Meets regularly and participates in performances, pow wows, and socials.
Elangomat: Recruits Elangomats for every Ordeal and trains/assists them. Often includes acting elangomats at each ordeal.
Events: Plans Lodge activities, events, and shows with the Lodge and Chapter.
Finance: Create the financial records for the lodge and annual Lodge Operating Budget.
Membership: Updated membership rolls of the lodge, manage the on-site check-in process at events, and maintain this survey and other event check-out processes.
Service: Plans Lodge Service Days, creates service plans at ordeals in consultation with rangers, and works on promoting service within the lodge.
Shows: Create shows and videos for the lodge at events
Trading Post: Operate the Lodge Trading Post, including keeping inventory of stock and creating new merchandise ideas.
Training: Responsible for Lodge Leadership Development seminar planning and organizes training sessions at lodge events.
Unit OA Representatives: Maintain contact with Unit OA representatives and act as the liaison between units and the Lodge.
Unit Elections: Coordinate unit election process for the Lodge and assist chapters when needed.
