GTC (Gifted, Talented and Creative) Program - Application, 2023-24 School Year
The application for the Gifted, Talented, and Creative program at Highland Junior High is now open. In order to qualify for the GTC program, students must have scored in the 97th percentile in at least one category (verbal, quantitative, nonverbal) on a state approved cognitive abilities test. Alternatively, they can also qualify with a 95% in 2 of the 3 areas or a score on an approved IQ test of at least 128.

Students are selected for the GTC program by lottery if there are more applications than seats available. The first cutoff will be on January 13, 2023, and families will be informed if their child has been accepted the week of January 16, 2023. Those who are not accepted will be placed on a waitlist, but applications will continue to be accepted throughout the spring. If there is no waitlist after January 13 students will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
