Health, Equity & Environmental Justice in Kansas City - Wednesday, November 17th, 2-3:30pm CT
CleanAirNow and the Union of Concerned Scientists are hosting a virtual presentation and discussion entitled Health, Equity & Environmental Justice in Kansas City, on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 2:00-3:30 pm central. This event is for state & local, regional, and federal level decision-makers as well as the media.

Panelists will present the community, public health, and scientific perspective on the environmental injustices and related health disparities Kansas Citians on both sides of the state line are experiencing. We will also discuss the proposed solutions that we are developing and seeking, and the actions we are currently taking to achieve environmental justice. Our joint report, Environmental Racism in the Heartland: Fighting for Equity and Health in Kansas City, will be released the week of the event, and we are happy to provide you with an advanced copy upon request.

Additionally, we will hear from the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Environmental Justice on federal initiatives that focus on community engagement, environmental health, and justice. Panelists will present for an hour, and then we'll have 30 minutes for your questions and thoughts.
