Middle School Parent Request - Semester 2

Northern Middle School - Person County Schools
We are beginning to plan for the second semester of the 2020-2021 academic school year. This survey will allow you to share important information with Northern Middle School regarding your student's preference to participate in Plan B, which is a combination of remote and in-person learning (hybrid) or to continue with 100% remote learning. We will also use this survey to give you an opportunity to indicate transportation needs.

VIRTUAL ACADEMY

Students who prefer to remain in 100% remote learning will maintain their enrollment in the Virtual Academy for the duration of the second semester. Students opting for 100% remote learning will remain off-site (at home) and will continue their education online with synchronous learning opportunities each week. Participating students will continue to be taught by _ NCVPS teachers - all while following NC state standards, and with a combination of synchronous (real-time) and asynchronous (complete at your own pace) instruction.

HYBRID MODEL

Northern Middle School is currently operating under Plan B, the hybrid model, in which students have 2-days of in-person instruction and 3-days of remote instruction. Students who prefer to continue in the hybrid model will maintain their enrollment on their current Track A or B through the duration of the second semester. Students enrolled in the hybrid model will still be provided the same curriculum and instructional resources as in the first semester.

POTENTIAL PLAN A

If the governor allows for middle school students to shift to Plan A, 5-day a week in-person instruction, you will be offered the opportunity on the survey linked below to determine if you would like your child to maintain or begin enrollment in our Virtual Academy for the duration of the second semester or if you would like to have your child enroll in full-time in-person instruction.
